How to do anonymous browsing over the internet

Of late there is lot of hue and cry over the news on facebook timeline and its new privacy policy. If you are worried about your privacy, there are few more reasons to do the same. There are many other websites, which may use your personal data. After so many year’s of browsing history, you have shared your privacy, intentionally or unintentionally, to many websites. But hereafter, let us hide our identity by doing anonymous browsing over the internet.

Let us dig deep on this and find out how to hide IP address over the internet and perform an anonymous browsing. Whenever, we search in a search engine e.g. google, bing etc our search keywords, our IP and associated details get stored with in the database of the search engines. The motive behind this data gathering is 1) To make the search result more user friendly based on user requirements and 2) Monitory gain - To use your data as a basis of online marketing or in survey. So, when you search a particular word(s), and visit a particular site, your search criteria is sent as a part of header information. Thus, not only the search engine, but the visiting sites also come to know about your search word(s) and preferences. Over and above, while you connect to another website, your IP gets recorded. And as you know that all the IPs are geo-tagged, your location can easily be identified. Along with the location, your service provider also can be easily identified in most of the cases. Most of the search websites gather this data and store it in their database. When this data leaks out, it can be used for unscrupulous activities. This is popularly known as identity theft.

 Anonymous Browsing

Now let us see how can we do anonymous browsing i.e. how to hide IP address.

In its version 9 of Internet explorer, Microsoft has implemented Tracking Protection. As per Microsoft’s statement for IE version 9,

You can install aTracking Protection Listfrom a provider you trust or enable your personalized list. Internet Explorer 9 uses the Tracking Protection Lists as a guide to block or allow third-party tracking.

There are also options for searching any contents securely. When you use the SSL i.e. https for searching any content, no one can interrupt your search terms, while it is sent from your machine to the search engine. The search engines then send you back the information in a secured manner. However, when you click on a particular site in the search result, though the search engine doesn’t provide the search terms to the target website, it reveals the referrer i.e. your IP related details are disclosed to the target site. However, the referrer information is still a part of encryption and hence no one can intercept the message in between. But remember that irrespective of type of protocol you used, most of the search engines including Google log your information in their database in the same manner and hence in true sense, it is a partial anonymous browsing.

In case, you don’t want the search engines to store your data, you have some other options to do anonymous browsing. There are few search engines and free anonymous proxy, which can cover you from this personal information tracking without storing any of your personal data. These websites generally reroute your search in such a way that the search terms don’t reach the destination website. These search engines also hide the IP address and allow you to do an anonymous browsing over the internet. You may check out some of the serach engines as given below

Websites enabling Anonymous Browsing:

DuckDuckGo – Supposed to be the most famous no-track search engine. Website is http://duckduckgo.com/

HideMyAss – Uses free proxy to do anonymous browsing over the net. Website is http://www.hidemyass.com/

Ixquick and startpage – Both are part of the same company. Website urls are https://startpage.com/ and https://www.ixquick.com/.

Yippy – Website address is http://search.yippy.com/

Yauba – Yauba is a search engine of Indian origin, which stores no data and you can browse anonymously. The site link is www.yauba.com

How to make facebook business page

Facebook is a revolutionary application in the area of social media. It has brought the whole world within the reach of our fingertips. We don’t have any difficulty in reaching out our friends and relatives staying far away from us. Where, facebook is being used to intact our nexus, it is equally being used to gain publicity. Facebook page has gathered immense popularity among public figures, business shops and as well as individuals. Many people are now using this popularity to do facebook marketing. Most of us already know how to create a facebook profile. Here, we will see how to create a facebook business page. It is also possible to create a custom facebook tab. Recently facebook has changed some layout. In this article, we will show, how one can create a facebook business page and tab.

First of all, you do need a facebook business page to create a tab. If you have a page already, move on to the next section.

1.Open the link https://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php in your browser. It will give you different types of custom facebook pages. If you just want to have your own custom facebook page, consider “Brand or Product”.

2.Once you choose “Brand or Product”, it will ask for category and you can choose website or anything that suits your facebook business page.

3.Next, following instructions, set up your photo for the page and enter relevant details about your website.

4.Now, go to Edit PageàManage Permissions. You will be able to see number of submenu on the left pane. These are setting and some more details required from you. In the basic information, you will be able to create a user name once you have at least 25 fans.

5.That is all. Now your facebook business page is created. You can invite your facebook friends to see your page.

Now you have created your facebook business page; you have posted few articles as well. But what is the url of your facebook business page? Facebook assigns random url for each page. The page url looks like below

https://www.facebook.com/pages/<page name>/<number assigned by facebook>

This url can be changed to more customized one, when you will be able to create your user name.

You can see that most of the business giants now have a custom facebook page. The business opportunity from this social media is immense. And this is an opportunity for a small business to set up their page and leverage the power of facebook marketing. Maintaining a facebook business page is much simpler and cost effective than maintaining a separate website. And hence it’s a colossal power to a start-up or a small company.

The facebook business page also provides you the privilege of having multiple custom tabs. Here we will see how we can create a facebook tab. A facebook tab can contain anything like Music, Video, google maps etc. Now, the tab necessarily points to an external link where you have all your css, html, java scripts etc. If you have your own website, you can use the same. However, please remember that you must have ssl enabled for your website. It means that your website must have a url starting with https. For this demonstration, we will use a demo site in Google. If you want, you can avail a free site provided by Heroku.

1.Go to the url http://developers.facebook.com . Click on Apps and then on “Create New Apps”. If you are coming to the facebook developers site first time, you may have to pass through few more steps.

2.This will open up a window, where you need to enter your App name and a unique name space. If you want to use the Heroku free site, tick the corresponding check box.

facebbok business page 1

3.After captcha verification, it will provide you a page to enter basic verification. In the domain name enter your domain name. We will use here google.com

4.Down below, you can see number of App types given. We are creating here a facebook tab and hence click on the Page tab. This will open up few fields to be filled.

facebook business page 2

5.In the Page Tab name, enter the display name of your facebook tab.

6.In the Page Tab Url, we need to provide the url, where we will be keeping all our source files e.g. html, css etc.

7.Secure Page Tab url is same as Page Tab url with the exception of SSL. With the current implementation of facebook, you must have a https page, without which it will not work. This is very important point to note.

8.Now select an image that will be shown in your Page tab and choose Page Tab width. There are two options currently for Page Tab width i.e. 810px and 520px.

Now, once you save, your new app (tab) is ready. But, note that this is not yet attached to your custom facebook page. Take a note of the App Id shown at the top of the page when you successfully save the App. To attach the App to your facebook business page, you need to enter the below url

http://www.facebook.com/dialog/pagetab?app_id=<YOUR_APP_ID>&display=popup&next=<YOUR_URL>

Replace YOUR_APP_ID and YOUR_URL respectively with your App Id and url. Once you open this url, it will open up a page to add your created tab to your page. If you have multiple pages, it will be shown in the drop down list. Select your intended page and click on the Add button below. Now when you open your facebook business page, you will be able to see your newly created tab.

facebook business page 3

Click on the tab and it will show your website.

Windows 8 - How well is it accepted?

Microsoft made some radical changes in its new version of operating system. The desktop is totally different with the applications arranged in tile format, which facilitates the touchscreen input. The conventional Start button has been changed.  There are many more changes in the operating system, which you may stumble upon when you upgrade from winows previous version of operating systems. Microsoft hasn’t left any stone unturned to make Windows 8 a big success. It has also offered free windows 8 pro upgrade if you purchase a Windows 7 computer between 2-June, 2012 and 13-January, 2013.

According to the latest market share by Net Applications, one of the analytical farms, the share of Windows 8 is at the end of the week of November, 18, is 1.18%. The number doesn’t give much insight as it is long way to go for Windows 8. However, it is interesting to see that Windows xp , which is an age old windows operating system, still acquires 39.27% of the market share. It tells us that a good number of people are still reluctant to change their operating system and moving to upgraded version very slowly. And I trust that most of them are commercial users, who are NOT in favour of taking any business risk and invest in new operating systems. However, in the view that Microsoft is stopping its support in 2014, it is ideal time for these users to upgrade their operating system to either windows 7 or windows 8.

Let us consider some more statistics. The market share of Windows xp has been reduced to 39.27% in the week of Novemebr 18, 2012 from 40.66% in the end of October, 2012. That means that there is a decline of 1.39%. Assuming that majority of these users moved to upgraded versions of Windows platform, they might have moved to windows 7 or windows 8.  In the same period, Windows 8 sale has been increased by 0.77% and windows 7 share by 0.78%. The total of increment in market share for windows 8 and windows 7 is close to decline in market share of windows xp. I believe that it is not a bad indication at this period of time. Unless any new issue surfaces about Windows 8, it is expected to capture the market slowly.

Joomla - How to create site map through Xmap

Sitemap is very important for your website to be appeared in Search Engine. Sitemap tells the search engine about different pages or contents in your site. Create site map and submit it to the search engines. It ensures that the search engines know about all your pages.

Do we mandatorily need a Sitemap for our website? The answer is NO. Generally, the search engine spider crawls your site to gather relevant information about your site and then show it in search result. If you create site map and provide it  to the search engines, it ensures that they will not miss any page or content. Sitemaps are specifically helpful in case of dynamic sites or sites having lots of Ajax, where the pages are otherwise can not be discovered by the spider. In Joomla, all the contents and other information are stored in the database and it dynamically generates the pages on request. Thus, it is very important that you create site map for your Joomla site and provide it to all the search engines. It is also imperative to create site map for the new sites, for which the search engines don’t get enough backlink from other sites.

Google introduced sitemap in order to show the dynamic pages in search result. The google sitemap file follows a particular format. The details of which can be found at http://www.sitemaps.org/ . A snippet of sitemap file is shown below

How to create a site map for google

The xml sitemap protocol has been accepted by all the major search engines. The current xml sitemap protocol is 0.9. In the sitemap, multiple url tags are enclosed within urlset tag. You may find other tags namely “lastmod”, “changefreq” and “priority”. “lastmod” tag signifies the last modified date of the content. Priority denotes priority of the content and ranges from a scale of 0 to 1. “changefreq” signifies the frequency at which the contents are getting changed. The detail parameters of all these tags can be found in Sitemaps.org site. Other than xml format, you can create a site map file as text file or RSS feed.

Now coming to Joomla, You can create site map xml file manually or can take help of xmap extension. The manual process becomes laborious as you grow your website pages. Thus adopting xmap from the beginning does make sense. The link for downloading xmap is as given below

http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/structure-a-navigation/site-map/3066

Once you install the component, you can go to component and can see the xmap entry.

create site map xml

On clicking the xmap entry, it will ask you to enable few xmap plugins. Enable these plugins and then go back to xmap component.

google sitemaps

Click on New to generate a new sitemap. You can see three different sections i.e. Menus, Options and Sitemap. In menus, select all the menu that you want to include in your xml sitemap. You can also change the default priority and change frequency. Remember to select publish before saving the same. Once saved, you can see an entry as below.

create site map google

The xml sitemap and News Sitemap (with in square brackets) are to create site map in xml format and news sitemap.

Supposing you want to provide the xml sitemap to google, follow the below steps.

a)Click on the link [Xml Sitemap]. It will open a window as below.

create site map 1

b)Now copy the portion of the link circled in red.

c) Log into Google Webmaster site.

d)Go to OptimizationàSitemaps

e)Click on Add/Test Sitemap and enter the copied url and submit.

Google will immediately validate your file. However, it will take its own time to crawl and index your pages.

If you prefer not to use the search engine’s webmaster site, there are two more options

a)Direct https submission – For direct http submission, you need to generate the xml file and keep in your root directory. Then enter the below url and the xml sitemap file will be submitted

<searchengine_URL>/ping?sitemap=sitemap_url

The xml sitemap file can be saved locally by right clicking on the page after step a) above. Then you need to ftp the xml sitemap file to your website host.

b)You can provide this information to the search engines by providing the below entry in your robots.txt file (replace example.com with your website)

Sitemap: http://www.example.com/sitemap.xml

Please let me know if you have any feedback on this.

What stocks to buy? - Invest In Ramky Infra

Infrastructure Outlook: There is immense thrust from Government of India to improve the Indian infrastructure. In the twelfth plan 2012-17, the government has planned to increase the expenditure in infrastructure from 5.7% of the GDP in eleventh plan to 8%. This initiative has already been taken not only from central government but also from individual states. Where the government has taken initiative to improve the infrastructure, the private parties are also encouraged to take part in this initiative. This will be done in a Public Private Partnership route.

Strong Order Book : Ramky infrastructure has a strong order book position of 13702 crores as of March-12, which is nearly 4 times its yearly revenue. The order book breaks up as below as on beginning of this financial year

1.       Roads, Highways & Bridge Project – 43.7%

2.       Building – 16.3%

3.       Water and waste water Projects – 16.0%

4.       Irrigation project – 11.8%

5.       Industrial Projects – 7.5%

6.       Power Transmission and distribution – 4.7%

More over more potential orders are there in the pipeline.

Strong financials : Ramky infrastructure is growing over last four years at CAGR 31% in terms of revenue, In terms of net profit, it is growing at CAGR 29.5%.  In the last financial year, the stand alone revenue for Ramky has been grown at the rate of 13.32% to 3094.25 crores and the net profit (before tax) has grown marginally by 0.58% to 212.17 crores. On a consolidated basis, Ramky’s revenue has grown by 22.4% to 3934 crores and net profit to 244 crores (an increase of 18.43%). Though owing to input cost and high interest rate, the net profit margin has been plunged to 4.58% from 5.73%. Barring the profit margin, the performance of the company is quite significant when the broader economy has played a spoil sports. Also, this is worth to be mentioned here that the company has a moderate RONW of 14%.

Cheap valuation : Ramky’s share is available at a very cheap valuation. This is currently trading at a trailing PE of 4.3. The Price to Book Value ratio stands at 0.6. If we consider a 20% topline growth for 2013, the stock is currently trading at 4 forwarding PE for 2013, whereas its peer Jaypee Infra is trading at 5.45 and Patel engineering is trading at 12.3.

Risk – multiple subsidiaries : Ramky has invested in multiple businesses and having good number of subsidiaries. All of these subsidiaries are not profit making or having good profit margin. Over all this makes the entire business model complex and difficult to manage. The investors also may find it difficult to track all of them. This is posing a risk in terms of improper visibility and outlook.

Risk – Jagan case : The share price of Ramky infrastructure has been beaten down drastically from the time its 2400 acre Pharma city at Vishakhapatnam came under the scanner after the arrest of Jagan Mohan Reddy. This issue has not been resolved yet and any decision against Ramky may have some adverse effect on its share price.

Considering both positive and negatives, it is recommended to buy the stock at the current valuation. In case, there is any adverse impact of the case, the lower side is limited as stock has already discounted most of the negative factors.

wampserver - A free web hosting solution

Are you planning to launch a website? Creating a website online takes time. It is better to build your website locally and then move it to the live server, when it is ready. Do you need to update your website regularly? Don’t implement new features or experiment with your live server. It is always better to try it out in your local server and then roll out the same to your live server. And that's where wampserver is of great help to us.

If you are not technical enough to set up your Web server in your local machine, Wampserver is the ideal choice for you; specifically if you are using PHP. WampServer is a free web hosting solution for windows. When, you perform installation of wamp server, you will install Apache2, PHP and mySql database. Alongside, you will be able to make use of phpmyadmin.

Wampserver is a free software and can be downloaded from the site http://www.wampserver.com. After you download Wampserver, follow the step by step instruction to perform installion of wamp server in your local computer. Once installed, you can see few directories under your installed directory (generally C:wamp). The most important is the “www” directory. All your website files will reside under this folder.

Before starting your wampserver, consider the following

  • By default, wampserver uses port 80. Check if there is any conflict on port 80 in your computer. If there is a conflict, you may want to change the default port of wampserver. For changing the port, open the httpd.conf under "<Installed directory>binapacheapache2.4.2conf". Change the default port 80 for the two lines a) Listen 80 b) ServerName localhost:80

  • In case, you have firewall running in your computer, you need to configure your firewall to allow port 80 for your wamp server localhost (or the configured port) and default mySql port 3306.

  • The www directory contains an index.php file. In case, you want to have your site directly under localhost, you need to replace the index.php with your own index.php. Otherwise, you may have to create sub-folders under www.

Once you complete your wamp server installation and set up everything, click on the newly installed wampserver icon from dektop or from ProgramàWampserverà Start wampserver. Hereafter you can see the wampserver icon near the clock on the righthand corner of your window. The icon will change its color from RedàYellowàGreen. The green color signifies that Wampserver started without any issue. Once the wampserver started properly, you will be able to see the wampserver menu near the clock again.

free wampserver

Now type http://localhost (in case you changed the default port, you need to append the port number i.e. http://localhost:<port no.>) in your browser and it will open up the default site for wampserver (unless you replaced the index.php). You will be able to see your projects under “Your Projects” subheading if you created subfolders under www.

Price Earning Ratio-Check right price for share

Whenever you buy anything, you do always ensure that you are NOT paying exorbitant price for that. This is no different when you are investing for a stock. PE or “price earning ratio” ratio is one of the popular parameters among investors. Investors often compare the "price earning ratio" with that of another company with similar size and business.

The formula of "price earning ratio" is as given below

price earning ratio = Current Market Price/EPS

EPS is “earning per share”. EPS is calculated by dividing net profit by number of shares. There are two types of EPS, a) normal EPS and b) diluted EPS. Normal EPS considers only the regular stocks whereas the diluted EPS considers both normal and preference shares, stock options convertible bonds etc.  For the purpose of calculating "price earning ratio", always consider diluted EPS.

In theoretical terms, EPS signifies how much one share is earning and "price earning ratio" signifies how many years the stock will take to arrive the current market price (without considering growth rate, inflation etc).

 Price Earning Ratio

Let us consider an example.

For 2012, the net profit of stock A is $ 8454.3 million. There are total 340.295 million of Shares for stock A.

So EPS = 8454.3/340.295=$ 24.84

The market price of A as on this date is $ 675

Hence "price earning ratio" = 675/24.84=27.17

Many people also use different "price earning ratio" term. When we use the EPS for the past period (last twelve months), it is called trailing "price earning ratio" and when we take estimate for future period, it is called forwarding "price earning ratio". Forwarding "price earning ratio" is the most popular with the analyst as they get a hunch that what will be the valuation of the stock going forward.

Now, the question is whether high "price earning ratio" bad and low "price earning ratio" good? Not really. Otherwise, it will be the only parameter, everyone would be checking and nothing else would be required.  It is observed that companies with good prospect and growth have high "price earning ratio" as people are willing to pay high price. Thus, when you check "price earning ratio", you do also compare the prospect of the companies. Many people also often use PEG, which is "price earning ratio"/Annual EPS growth. When the PEG is less than 0.5, the stock is considered to be available at cheap price and when it is more than 1, it is expansive.

In this referral program, you can gain Rs. 50 in the form of mobile Talk time for every reference, while the new person registers in facebook. Facebook Social Networking - What's next?

Facebook social networking brought big change in the world of socialization. In our last anniversary, my wife wished me “Happy Marriage Anniversary” in facebook. After receiving the facebook message in office, I was in a dilemma whether I should send a facebook message in response or call her to wish her the same and admit that I forgot the day. On one hand, all these socialization sites like facebook make the world very small by bringing the people across the globe on a single platform and on the other hand, it causes people to move away from conventional communication.

facebook social networking

I still remember my childhood days. There were not many Televisions in our locality. And hence many people used to come to our home to watch popular sports or movie. So, the television indirectly became a platform for social networking.

I was born and brought up in Kolkata, India. Durga Puja is the main festival to us i.e. the Bengalee. On the last day of the Puja, there is a ritual that people go to their relative’s or friend’s house to offer respects to the elders and strengthen friendship with those of the same age. We used to be pretty busy in this period of time (which spans across a week) to visit other houses or at home. But nowadays, we don’t visit any house and instead, we leverage the facebook social networking platform to perform this ritual. Except three of my cousins, no one visit our house nowadays. And I am afraid that they will also avoid doing so, once they will start using the facebook social networking platform. Literally, we have made this age old ritual a virtual one.

We are all running in high speed in this fast world. In this fast moving world, where we don’t have enough time to socialize, Facebook social networking is a viable option. And it gives us the flexibility to stay connected with everyone, 24 hours a day and seven days a week. I believe that mobile phone is the first revolutionary invention in this area (keeping aside pager for the time being as Pager didn’t get the familiarity as that of mobile phone). With the invention of mobile phone, we could overcome the pain of staying away from our near and dear ones. We got the world in our hand with the invention of mobile phone. But parallely, we lost our privacy. We became reachable at all time over mobile phone, whether we do like it or not. And then the other socialization platform came in the name of Orkut, My Space, Facebook, Google Plus, Tweet etc. All these sites provided us the platform to disseminate information in lightning speed to the entire set of people associated with us. It helped the people to keep themselves up to date to the relevant information round the clock. But this has happened in sacrifice of all other mode of communication. I have given an illustration to prove this point in the beginning. So going forward, don’t be surprised if you are attending a session on communication and the topic mainly revolves around facebook social networking.

Now, the big question is what kept in future for us? Beyond our business and office, will we be only encompassed in facebook social netwokring? Though we don’t have any definite answer for this question, we are slowly inching towards the same. If you ask someone, what do you like a) get together\hangout with friends or b) online facebook social networking; the answer may be get together\hangout. But our lifestyle, lack of free time and fast life may not allow us to do the same. So people would like to leverage facebook social networking platform to take a flavor of hangout(socialization). Even if it doesn’t satisfy 100% of your need, it will fulfill at least 50%. We exactly don’t know what will be the next to FaceBook. But whatever it is, you will move forward one step toward complete virtualization.

How to use Google Analytics for websites

If you are writing a blog or have launched your own website, you must be interested to track site visitors in order to perform a site analysis. And if we want to implement any tool to gather statistics, the first thing that comes to our mind, is Google Analytics. One of the major points is to be noted that this tool provides free webanalytics and is supposed to be the best tool to webanalyse. It has standard reporting format and as well as customized reporting. The standard reporting is so elegant that I never had to customize any report.

The first step to use google analytic is that you need to open a Google account, unless you already have one. Once you create an account, follow step by step instruction to configure the tool for your website.

1.Go to the website - http://www.google.com/analytics/. Click the Sign up button and log in with your Google account.

2.It will open up an Account set up form, where you need to enter your website and other relevant details.

3.Once you fill up all the information, click on “Get Tracking Id”. This will open up a new window for “Google Analytics Terms of Service”. From the above drop down box, select your “Country of domicile”. Go through the terms of services and click “I Accept” (assuming the terms are acceptable to you).

4.Once you accept the terms of services, it will provide you a unique tracking id and few more options to track subdomains, top level domains, double click account, custom campaign tags and few more other optional settings. Along with this, Google Analytics will provide a tracking code, which needs to be placed in your webserver. The code is something like below

5.Now you have completed the basic setting in the Google Analytics tool. It’s now time to paste the code in your webpage. The given tracking code is required to be pasted just before the </head> tag in all the webpages, wherever you want to gather web stats.

Joomla

If you are using Joomla, go to ExtensionàTemplate Manager. Now open all the relevant template for which you want statistics and modify the main page template one by one. Paste the tracking code, just before the </head> tag.

Google Blogger

For Google blogger, you need to add Google Analytics Web Property Id. For this go to design mode and navigate to SettingàOther. In the Web property Id, enter the unique tracking id provided by Google Analytics and save the setting. This does complete the setting for your blogger website.

The Google Analytics gather statistics generally once in 24 hours. Thus it may take some time for you to see the first report. So, once you complete the set up , grab a glass of bear and just chill out!!

Prevent copy of important file through CopyNotify

Computer is now an inseparable part of our life. And as we have started defying any geographical boundary to become more and more global, laptop has become an indispensable part of our life. Whether it is office or home, we are very closely bonded to this life-changing device. And inevitably, we started storing all our personal, confidential and official data in our closest electronic company. No wonder, we have given a birth of a new issue called data theft. So, how can we prevent copy of confidential official data?

The impact of the data loss from our computer can be turned out to be a very detrimental for us. If someone steals the data, he\she may get access to vital information starting from our credit card to confidential information about our clients. Thus, it is imperative to protect computer data security.

Prevent Copy

In my earlier post Data Theft, I discussed data theft and where and how it is being used. Direct copying is one of the many ways to steal data. It's a very easy mechanism for the people, who has access to the data. And USB is the easiest way as it can be hidden easily because of its size. To prevent copy of important and confidential data, one of the India based companies from Pune came out with a software security program. They have created a software called “CopyNotify!”, which can be used to prevent copy of data. If you are running an organization, you may be interested to implement this software security program. We have seen in news that in many cases, the employees shared confidential and sensitive data and the same was used for doing some fraudulent activity. “CopyNotify!” can be a perfect precautionary measurement for all such incidences.

“CopyNotify!” works in Client-server mode. One part needs to be installed in client and the other part needs to be installed in server. Any activity in the purview of “CopyNotify!” is displayed in the server. Through the “CopyNotify!” software the below activity can be achieved

  • It controls, monitors and prevent copy of data on to USB storage media by implementing USB software protection. There is a provision to authorize selected USB drives by user name or device or make Any unauthorized access is instantly alerted to the server.

  • If it is required, the USB drives can be given read only access. This will allow the users to read the contents of the USB drive but will restrict the user to copy anything from the machine to the USB drive.

  • It can disable autorun and thereby minimize the malware threats. This is a very important feature as most of the time our machine gets affected by the malware during autorun of the USB drive.

  • It can enabledisable CDDVD, bluetooth devices or USB modem and thereby protects data. It can monitor the usage of all these devices.

  • Nowadays many offices have the facility of Wifi. This device can restrict any access to the network from unauthorized devices.

  • The confidential and sensitive data can also be sent to external world through webmail such as yahoo, Hotmail etc. This device can be enabled to restrict any attachment to webmail and thereby protects us against any data theft.

This small device is quite an excellent utility to implement computer data security and prevent copy of data, which may cause havoc to the companies. It is available from $29 for three computer license pack.
